Southern Pecan Cake Recipe

This is a great cake. It's made in a tube pan and is easy to cut and serve as and appetizer or dessert. You can top with your favorite frosting or just spread on butter and enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 nutmeg, grated
  • 1 orange rind, grated
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 cup whiskey
  • 1 quart pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 lb raisins

Instructions
 

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Blend in the rest of the ingredients.
  • Pour in a tube pan and bake at 350F for 2 hours.
