Southern Cornbread Dressing (Stuffing) Recipe

This dish is most famous as a thanksgiving side, but I crave it year round and my whole family loves it. this one is seasoned just right

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb turkey sausage, cooked
  • 1 cup golden bell pepper, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 (8 ounce) package ready made cornbread mix
  • 1 1/2 cups oyster crackers
  • 1 (14 ounce) can cream of celery soup
  • 3 tablespoons fresh sage
  • 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon nu salt substitute
  • pepper
  • 1 small carrot, shredded
  • 1 cup chicken or 1 cup turkey stock
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions
 

  • Make cornbread according to ackage directions and Crumble.
  • preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Mix ingriedients in a large bowl.
  • Pour into an 8x10 baking dish and bake about 40 minutes.
  • Pour a little more stock over stuffing just before serving and garnish with more fresh sage leaves.
