This was my grandmother's recipe. I looked forward to having this every year at Christmas time.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 quart whole milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Pour milk into a double boiler.
  • Heat to boiling.
  • Beat eggs, add sugar, and mix well.
  • Add to milk and cook until thick enough for your tastes, stirring constantly.
  • Add vanilla, stir well, and serve.
